Senior Medical Physicist

Job Summary
As a Senior Medical Physicist at Baptist Memorial Healthcare Corporation, you will play a critical role in the delivery of high-quality radiation oncology services.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement techniques for standardizing and calibrating imaging and therapy equipment.
- Perform treatment planning for complex cases and serve as a resource for staff regarding treatment plans, simulations, and device fabrication.
- Validate the accuracy of treatment plans and provide consultation to physicians as needed.
- Conduct acceptance testing, commissioning, and quality assurance testing of linear accelerators, treatment planning systems, and physics equipment.
- Assist in the coordination of physics and dosimetry staffing across the metro area.
- Develop protocols for patient care to ensure evidence-based planning and optimize patient outcomes.
- Participate in research activities in support of the Clinical Trials Committee.
- Collaborate with the GME program to educate Radiology residents on Radiation Oncology.
- Oversee quality control measures and document all aspects of physics services.
- Contribute to performance improvement and radiation safety activities.
Requirements
- Masters-level education in medical physics with board eligibility from the American Board of Radiology.
- Minimum ten years of experience in a radiation oncology department, with academic experience preferred.
- BLS certification within 14 days of hire, and ABR certification.
- Advanced computer skills.
