The John Stewart Company is seeking a highly skilled Assistant Property Manager to join our team. As a key member of our housing operations team, you will assist the Property Manager in the day-to-day operation of our properties, ensuring a supportive environment for all residents.
Key Responsibilities- Interview and screen prospective residents for occupancy.
- Prepare, process, and sign leases and rules.
- Purchase general supplies and services in accordance with our P.O. policy and procedures.
- Assist with inspections and monitoring work orders.
- Collect rent, prepare deposits, and maintain accurate records using our Boston Post property management software.
- Write warning letters and prepare legal notices to residents as needed.
- Submit required reports and maintain records according to our company policies.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate fluently in English.
- Excellent problem-solving, listening, and deductive reasoning skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- 1-2 years of property management experience, preferably with Tax Credit properties.
- Prior experience in managing affordable housing complexes.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for training purposes.
- Knowledge of company policies, federal, state, and local laws, Tax Credit Section 42, and other relevant rules.
- Medical, dental, and vision care, with preventative medical care paid at 100%.
- Vacation leave of up to ten days per year in the first year.
- Up to 72 hours of sick time per year.
