Senior Wound Care Physician with Leadership Expertise

Bon Secours Mercy Health is seeking a Senior Wound Care Physician to lead our team in the Greater Richmond, VA region.
As a Board Certified Wound Care specialist, you will oversee clinical functions at all four Bon Secours Wound Care Facilities and provide leadership direction for medical services. Your duties will include:
- Precepting medical students and educating new and current physicians
- Oversighting patient care and medical directorship responsibilities (0.2 FTE)
- Seeing patients for scheduled appointments, including sick visits, routine follow-ups, hospital follow-ups, and pre-op medical clearance
In addition to these responsibilities, you will also be expected to:
- Sign home health orders and other patient correspondence as needed
- Document encounters, bill in EMR, and close encounters same day
The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for delivering high-quality wound care. You will work closely with our leadership team to develop and implement strategies that drive growth and improvement in our centers.
Responsibilities will include:
Delivery of Medical Care* Ensuring center providers adhere to BSMH Best Practices Guidelines, Policies, and Procedures
* Supporting the centers' clinical and administrative staff in their professional development through continuing education and adjudication of clinical matters pursuant to the delivery of wound care and HBOT
* Ensuring the completion of medical record documentation and billing information in a timely and accurate fashion
* Serving as a resource for consultation and referral for providers from other disciplines
* Assisting in the recruitment and training of providers for the center
* Acting as a medical liaison between the centers' medical staff and market administration
* Advising/consulting with BSMH regarding budgetary needs of the center to effectively manage and allocate resources for the center
Quality Assurance* Assisting the System Medical Director in implementing system-wide initiatives and improving key performance indicators
* Ensuring the center meets and maintains all requirements necessary for full accreditation by The Joint Commission and the Ohio Medicare and Medicaid programs
* Implementing and managing the center's quality metrics
* Conducting or participating in the center's leadership meetings
* Participating in meetings or correspondence with the System Medical Director
* Reviewing and responding to any complaints and grievances with corrective action when appropriate in accordance with the BSMH bylaws, rules, and regulations
Center Growth and Advocacy* Participating in the center's marketing strategies, including but not limited to the development of BSMH publications, presentations to community groups, and personal contact with referring providers
* Acting as a medical liaison between the center and the local community
* Enhancing the center's visibility through presentations at hospital department meetings, grand round presentations, and local medical and community organizations when appropriate
