About the Position

The Duke University School of Medicine is seeking a highly skilled Research Communications and Engagement Project Manager to join our team. As a key member of the Research Communications & Engagement (RC&E) team, you will be responsible for leading the development of strategic internal and external communications plans in support of our research projects. You will work closely with internal and external clients to coordinate and oversee the execution of communications projects, including the writing, editing, and designing of materials by communications specialists. This role requires a strong understanding of clinical research communications, excellent project management and leadership skills, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement strategic communications plans to support research projects.
  • Coordinate the execution of communications projects, including writing, editing, and designing materials.
  • Provide final copyedit and review of content, and strategic input on design and formatting options.
  • Oversee the translation process of relevant materials to reach diverse populations.
  • Disseminate communication materials and track key measures of success.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in English, journalism, graphic design, or related field.
  • Five years of clinical research communications experience, including supervisory responsibilities.
  • Excellent project management and leadership skills.
  • Strong understanding of clinical research communications.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
