Job Summary

Apostolic Christian Restmor in Morton, IL is seeking a skilled Nurse Supervisor to oversee the coordination and supervision of nursing staff throughout the facility. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality care, communicate effectively with residents, families, physicians, and other healthcare providers, and maintain a safe and efficient work environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assure quality of care through ongoing resident assessment and intervention, notifying relevant parties regarding resident issues and needs.
  • Assist in planning care to attain and/or maintain the highest possible level of health, independence, and mobility of residents.
  • Assign, supervise, and evaluate care given throughout the facility to ensure efficient functioning and improve quality of care.
  • Communicate with physicians and other healthcare providers to facilitate overall healthcare of residents, managing care for residents on various nursing levels.
  • Record progress notes regularly to ensure continuity of care and provide up-to-date information for physicians, consultants, nursing staff, and other healthcare providers.
  • Assist with annual performance evaluations of nursing staff.
  • Perform therapeutic procedures in compliance with physician orders and plan of care.
  • Assist with orientation of new personnel.
  • Provide resident and family education where needed to enhance cooperation and undertaking of the care plan.
  • Participate in continuing education within and outside the facility to improve nursing skills and stay abreast of nursing developments.
  • Assist nursing staff/CNAs with resident care and needs.
  • Assist with managing scheduling shortages; notify scheduler or initiate contact to nursing staff to fill shortages when scheduler is unavailable.
  • Coordinate with admission nurse to ensure processes for new or returning residents are finalized for all admissions during scheduled shift.
  • Attend mandatory meetings and provide resident coverage to allow floor nurses to attend meetings/trainings.
  • Assume the role of floor nurse to manage staffing shortages.
  • Maintain standards of quality as set by ACR policies and state regulations.
Requirements
  • Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing with an active Illinois nursing license as a registered nurse.
  • Must have knowledge and sensitivity to the needs of the older adult.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills required.
  • This position is for 32-38 hours/week, depending on the candidate's preference when hired. Shifts will typically be 3:00pm-11:30pm three weekdays, every other weekend, and a holiday rotation.
Physical Demands

Considerable physical stamina required for walking and standing most of the day with occasional periods of sitting. Frequent stooping, stretching, bending, and reaching. Routinely required to push/pull/lift, and/or move up to 40 lbs. Some exposure to potentially hazardous equipment, chemicals, and infectious waste.
