Medical Assistant/LPN

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant/LPN to join our team at Advocate Health. As a Medical Assistant/LPN, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and room patients for appointments, ensuring a smooth and efficient clinical experience.
- Perform laboratory procedures, including phlebotomy, and assist with medical procedures under the supervision of a licensed healthcare professional.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure seamless care coordination.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, adhering to confidentiality and HIPAA guidelines.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to a culture of excellence in patient care.
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or equivalent, with a valid certification from a recognized accrediting agency.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers, obtained within 45 days of hire.
- High school diploma or equivalent, with completion of an accredited or approved program in Medical Assistant or 2 years of verifiable full-time experience as a Medical Assistant within the last 5 years.
- 2 years of experience in a clinical practice setting as a Medical Assistant, with a strong understanding of medical terminology and procedures.
- Proficiency in electronic medical records systems and computer software applications.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop rapport with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities.
This role requires the ability to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, crawl, kneel, climb, and reach above shoulders throughout the workday. The ability to lift 35 pounds without assistance is also required. Patient handling equipment will be used when necessary, with at least one other team member, when available.
