Job Summary

This is a PRN Sonographer position that will float between several clinics. The ideal candidate will have ARDMS certification with registry in Registered Vascular Technologist and competent skills in Abdomen, OB/GYN, Vascular and Small Parts without direct supervision.

Key Responsibilities
  • Communicate with patients, including patient verification and explaining the diagnostic process.
  • Use radiology/sonography equipment to produce images of the body for diagnostic purposes, as directed by the physician.
  • Review and evaluate images to determine if images are satisfactory for diagnostic purposes.
  • Train other staff in appropriate use of equipment and techniques in obtaining images.
  • Order, track and manage supplies.
  • Ensure that all required documentation is part of the patient's medical record and for billing purposes.
  • Contribute to a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, physicians and co-workers by following established standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.
Requirements
  • ARDMS certification with registry in Registered Vascular Technologist and competent skills in Abdomen, OB/GYN, Vascular and Small Parts without direct supervision.
  • One to three years of sonography experience preferred.
  • Valid driver's license, as travel may be necessary.
  • BLS Certification.
Working Conditions

The employee is regularly required to sit and stand, use hands and fingers to operate equipment and computer keyboard, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Computer work is frequent. Good lighting and comfortable temperature of ventilation at all times. Travel may be required.

Salary

Pay is based on experience.
