Overview of the Position

We are seeking an experienced nursing professional to join our team as a Charge Nurse at CHI Saint Joseph Health. As a key member of our nursing team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and leadership in our acute care environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Patient Care Management: Provide direct supervision of personnel practicing on Nursing Units, make patient care assignments, evaluate assignments, facilitate patient throughput, and directly observe staff performance on assigned shift.
  • Staff Leadership: Proactively match existing resources seeking ways to provide patient care that supports staff and maintains a therapeutic environment.
  • Productivity and Resource Alignment: Monitor productivity and assure that staffing and resources are aligned with patient care needs.
  • Communication: Communicate personnel-related concerns to Unit Manager.
  • Problem-Solving: Use a logical, systematic approach to problems and problem-solving.
  • Patient Experience: Facilitate Patient Experience best practices on the unit (hourly rounding, etc.).
  • Professional Standards: Maintain Unit Professional standards. Hold staff accountable for behaviors and attitudes.
