Position Title: Eligibility Worker/Human Services Specialist 3
Key Responsibilities:
- Determine financial eligibility for Medicaid/Medical Assistance Programs, Supplemental Assistance Program (SNAP), Employment Related Day Care (ERDC), and Long-Term Care Services (LTCS).
- Provide excellent customer service by ensuring information provided is given timely and accurately, responses are made in a calm, courteous and respectful manner.
- Update narrative reports summarizing new information from client and collateral sources.
Requirements:
- Two years of experience determining eligibility for an agency program by interviewing to assess the needs of clients and interpreting and applying the policies, rules, and guidelines applicable to the client's situation.
- An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience relative to the class concept.
Essential Attributes:
- Experience delivering excellent customer service, demonstrating exceptional communication skills while interacting with the public, coworkers, and managers.
- Experience explaining and articulating complex laws, rules, and policies in a customer-focused manner, to a non-technical audience.
- Accuracy and attention to detail ensuring a complete understanding of the task being worked on.
- Experience with accurately completing highly technical and detailed work.
Working Conditions:
- Work is conducted in offices and other program sites.
- Work can require travel, including overnight.
- Requires a valid driver's license or other acceptable method of transportation. Must have an acceptable driving record.
