Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cosmetologist to join our team at Mandara Spa. As a key member of our spa team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional skincare and nail care services to our guests, while also training and educating our technicians to ensure the highest standards of service delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert skincare and nail care services to guests, including facials, waxing, massage, and nail treatments.
  • Train and educate new and existing technicians on spa services and protocols to ensure consistency and quality.
  • Develop and maintain training programs for technicians, including product knowledge, sanitation procedures, and operational responsibilities.
  • Coordinate and execute technical interviews, refresher training, and new service training for technicians.
  • Ensure that all technicians receive and participate in regular training and education to maintain the highest standards of service delivery.
  • Work closely with the spa director to establish daily and weekly targets for the service group and ensure that all operational duties are completed efficiently.
  • Provide technical guidance to spa managers on guest issues and employee performance, and maintain consistent communication with the regional spa operations team.
  • Periodically test technicians to ensure that treatments are being performed according to Steiner protocol and that Steiner Spa standards are being met.
  • Attend monthly training meetings with spa operations manager and/or spa director, and conduct monthly meetings with technical staff.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience working in a high-end resort or urban spa environment.
  • Must possess a minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience and a current Hawaii cosmetologist license.
  • Must have received Cosmetology training from an accredited/approved massage therapy school.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills and ability to interact professionally with guests and co-workers.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.
  • Must be able to create, update, and edit training manuals, protocols, and tests.
