Referral Specialist, Bureau of Early Intervention

The Division of Family and Child Health (DFCH) of the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene is seeking a highly skilled Referral Specialist to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for processing referrals in NYEIS/EI Hub, retrieving case record information, creating electronic child case records, and preparing documents using Word and Excel.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in clerical work, with the ability to type at a minimum of 100 key strokes per minute. They will also possess excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.
The Referral Specialist will play a critical role in supporting the mission of the NYC Health Department, which is to protect and improve the health of all New Yorkers. They will be part of a dynamic team that is committed to advancing public health knowledge and responding to urgent public health crises.
Key responsibilities of the Referral Specialist will include:
- Processing referrals in NYEIS/EI Hub
- Retrieving case record information in NYEIS/EI Hub
- Creating electronic child case records
- Preparing documents using Word and Excel
The successful candidate will be required to bring original documentation to their interview, including a valid U.S. passport, permanent resident card, or driver's license, as well as proof of education and current resume.
