Production Expeditor

We are seeking a highly skilled Production Expeditor to join our team at First Tek. As a key member of our manufacturing team, you will be responsible for expediting production to ensure a continuous flow of materials and parts that conforms to the manufacturing schedule.
Key Responsibilities:- Schedule and coordinate the flow of work within or between departments
- Investigate and resolve material or part shortages and schedule delays
- Track parts and collect information to support tracking critical customer parts
- Update MRP, Client, and RTW systems with timely and accurate information
- Troubleshoot and initiate action to resolve discrepancies in paperwork or system information
- Plan monthly and/or short-term production dates and quantities to level load the work plan
- Identify and report delays or problems in the work team/cell that may impact production schedules
- Assist with prioritization of work assignments based on availability of people, material, and tooling
- Coordinate material movements between internal work and storage areas and/or outside processing or suppliers
- Meet customer shipping dates by scheduling and expediting the movement of parts
- Identify shortages, missing parts, discrepant parts, or additional requirements and report status to the appropriate area
- Assist management by ensuring follow-up actions are taken to resolve problems concerning over-shipments, shortages, engineering changes, work orders on hold, and cancellation of orders
- Monitor component shortage status
- Coordinate information regarding status and priorities with Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Engineering, Inventory Control, Shipping/Receiving, and Contract/Program Administration
- Apply continuous improvement and key lean manufacturing/production techniques to planning and production activities
- Recommend cost reduction opportunities and may be assigned to special projects
- Maintain knowledge of planning methods and systems, manufacturing operations, and products by attending team meetings, in-house training, and reviewing technical manuals or trade publications
- Support the team by accomplishing related results as needed
- General knowledge of aerospace industry products with considerable knowledge of manufacturing routings, travelers, and blueprints
- Ability to use standard business software applications and is proficient using specialized manufacturing resource planning systems (e.g. Client, RTW)
- Ability to implement and effectively apply continuous improvement methods
- Ability to adapt procedures, techniques, and/or processes to meet special needs
- Ability to work on a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity
- Ability to work within general work objectives regarding projects and team goals and use discretion in selecting procedures and techniques that should be applied
- Ability to respond to inquiries and to effectively communicate and present information
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Ability to effectively demonstrate team member competencies and participate in goal-setting, performance feedback, and self-development activities
This is a contract position with a pay rate of $ per hour. The pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The work schedule is 1st Shift hours: 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM.
