Professional Surveyor and Mapper I

We are seeking a highly skilled Surveyor and Mapper to join our team at Pasco County, FL. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in geomatics and surveying, with experience in performing professional and technical work in surveying and mapping.
Key Responsibilities- Perform professional and technical work in surveying and mapping, including computations, legal descriptions, plat review, and platting process.
- Assist the County Surveyor in various tasks, including preparing worksheets, preliminary and final right-of-way maps, and other types of surveys.
- Review and track the platting process, including coordinating with the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) and handling any platting issues that arise.
- Read, prepare, write, and review legal descriptions and sketches for surveying and mapping work.
- Research, lay out, and schedule work for survey crews, including coordinating data and preparing worksheets and files in the proper format.
- Review field notes and electronic data files for completeness and reduce the same for plotting.
- Review the results of field crew work and resolve any problems.
- Perform surveying calculations on geometric problems and review calculations of others.
- Compute control and do statistical analysis, compute traverses, run closures, calculate sectional breakdowns, acreage, and various trigonometric/surveying and mapping calculations.
- Troubleshoot, assist, and train others in the use of available software, hardware, and field instruments/equipment.
- Office processing and CADD production of all flavors of surveying and mapping projects, including drone photogrammetry and mobile and static LiDAR.
- Complete assigned specific technical surveying programs or projects assigned by the County Surveyor.
- Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree in Geomatics, surveying engineering technology, civil engineering, or a related field.
- Five (5) years' experience as a Surveyor and Mapper, or an Associate degree and seven (7) years' experience.
- Valid Florida driver's license.
- Valid registration as a Professional Surveyor and Mapper in the State of Florida.
