Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Missile Defense Systems Modeling and Analysis Engineer to join our team at the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory (APL). As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and assessing Missile Defense systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Model and analyze Missile Defense systems to identify areas for improvement
  • Develop and propose innovative concepts and algorithms to enhance system capabilities
  • Conduct analysis to assess the performance of potential future systems
  • Communicate technical recommendations to APL leadership, government sponsors, and the engineering community through effective presentations
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, physics, mathematics, or equivalent field
  • At least 1+ years of experience in a professional engineering setting with a focus on Department of Defense projects
  • Proficiency in MATLAB for modeling, simulation, and analysis
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to obtain an Interim Secret security clearance and ultimately a Top Secret clearance
Preferred Qualifications
  • Domain knowledge of Missile Defense Agency, Navy, Army, or Space Force systems, sensors, battle managers, and kinetic and non-kinetic capabilities
  • Proven experience in leading complex, multi-disciplinary analyses
  • Proficiency in version control software and object-oriented programming in MATLAB
