Medical Assistant

This role provides support in the medical field by performing various medical and clerical activities to ensure quality care and an efficient workplace. The successful candidate will be responsible for obtaining and documenting patient data, preparing exam rooms, and assisting with exams and procedures. Additionally, they will utilize written policies and procedures, report critical lab results, and complete charges accurately. This position requires a medical assistant credential and a minimum of six months of experience in a healthcare setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Obtain and document patient data, including chief complaint, allergies, vital signs, and medication reconciliation.
- Prepare exam rooms with necessary equipment and supplies.
- Assist with exams and procedures as requested.
- Utilize written policies and procedures to perform lab and diagnostic tests.
- Report critical lab results to providers.
- Complete charges accurately, including obtaining diagnosis and initialing billable supplies and services.
- Administer medications and treatments with emphasis on patient safety.
- Support and abide by all medical center, departmental, and safety policies and procedures.
- Graduate of an approved medical assistant program.
- Credentialed as a medical assistant (CMA, RMA, NCMA).
- Minimum of six months of experience in a healthcare setting.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Mandatory Reporting: Child and Dependent Adult Abuse requirement.
