Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Speech-Language Pathologist to join our multidisciplinary team at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) Schmieding Developmental Center. As a Speech Therapist, you will work to evaluate the speech and language skills of infants, children, and adolescents from birth to adolescence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate the speech and language skills of patients using standardized assessments and clinical observations.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address speech and language disorders.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care to patients.
  • Document patient progress and maintain accurate records.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Communicative Disorders or related field.
  • Arkansas License in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) and American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) Certificate of Clinical Competence or be eligible.
  • Two years of pediatric experience in speech-language evaluations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Communicative Disorders.

Working Conditions:

This position requires a strong understanding of child development principles, language acquisition milestones, and assessment techniques. The ideal candidate will possess excellent clinical assessment skills, including the ability to accurately diagnose speech and language disorders. Strong written and verbal communication skills are also essential for documenting and presenting findings.
