About the Role
We are partnering with a leading school district in Charlotte, North Carolina to hire a skilled Child Development Specialist. This role involves providing counseling services to students of all ages, conducting psychological assessments and evaluations, developing individualized education plans (IEPs) and 504 Plans. You will work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and administrators to create supportive learning environments, provide crisis intervention and support as needed.

Key Responsibilities
• Provide counseling services to students on Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and to the regular student population to foster positive coping strategies and skill development.
• Conduct psychological assessments and evaluations to identify students' needs and strengths.
• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and 504 Plans to meet students' diverse needs.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrators to create supportive learning environments that promote academic success and social growth.
• Provide crisis intervention and support for students and staff as needed.
• Coordinate outreach activities that support students and families, including pediatricians, outside counseling agencies, and community organizations.

Requirements
• Master's or Doctoral Degree in School Psychology or related field.
• State Certification and/or Licensure required to start the assignment.
• Experience working in a school setting is preferred.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of educators, parents, and community members.
• Proficiency in assessment tools and techniques used in school and educational settings.
• Strong knowledge of child development, learning theories, and behavioral interventions.
