Job Summary

We are seeking a qualified Physical Therapist Assistant to join our team at Alliance Community Hospital. As an essential member of our healthcare staff, you will work closely with our Physical Therapists to provide high-quality patient care and support in our outpatient settings.

About the Role:

  • Assist Physical Therapists in performing delegated treatment procedures, patient care activities, research, education, and training.
  • Perform all tasks delegated by Physical Therapists under their supervision and direction.
  • Communicate changes in patient condition and reaction to treatment to Physical Therapists.

Responsibilities and Expectations:

  • Provide physical therapy care as assigned to patients.
  • Maintain ongoing competency in physical therapy procedures and techniques.
  • Keep Unit Directors informed of significant problems or concerns.
  • Respond to patient and family complaints in a professional manner.
  • Orient new personnel to charts, forms, and documentation requirements.
  • Provide peer review of job performance of coworkers on a regular basis.
  • Assist with quality improvement programs by reviewing, recommending, or implementing processes as needed.
  • Comply with federal, state, and local rules and regulations regarding facility operations.
  • Consistently communicate with patients, families, customers, and other personnel in a professional, respectful, and courteous manner.
  • Demonstrate flexibility in meeting the needs of the program and respond positively to changes in workflow.
  • Promote teamwork by demonstrating willingness to assist others in meeting the needs of all individuals.
  • Collaborate effectively with the interdisciplinary team and other departments throughout the organization.
  • Comply with infection control and safety policies.
  • Complete annual competency requirements.
  • Conduct oneself in a professional manner and maintain a positive attitude.
  • Support strategic organizational goals and abide by the Aultman Code of Conduct at all times.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of a CAPTE accredited school for physical therapist assistants.
  • Current PTA license from the State of Ohio OT, PT, and AT Board.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Basic computer skills.

Working Conditions:

  • Hours of operation with shifts as assigned, including occasional overtime, on-call, or off-shifts (evenings and/or weekends) scheduled as necessary.
  • Lunch and break periods must be coordinated with other staff members to maintain adequate staffing during hospital hours of operation.
  • Subject to frequent interruptions and changes in priority of duties throughout the day.
  • May be required to travel in inclement weather.
  • Subject to emergency and other crisis situations.
