At Great American Insurance Group, we pride ourselves on being a leading provider of commercial property and inland marine coverages. We are currently seeking a highly skilled Production Underwriter to join our Property & Inland Marine Division.

Risk Selection and Management

  • Assess and analyze coverage and limit requests to determine the best terms to offer.
  • Price business in accordance with company guidelines and objectives.
  • Develop and maintain effective business relationships with internal and external customers to attract and retain profitable business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Order and screen miscellaneous reports needed in the rating and underwriting processes.
  • Interpret, explain, and market products and services to internal and external customers.
  • Apply underwriting rules and guidelines, rating manual rules, and insurance laws and regulations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Liberal Arts, Business, or a related discipline.
  • Typically 2 months to 6 years of related experience, with beginning coursework toward certification in area of expertise preferred.

Additional Information

  • This position requires frequent day and overnight travel to visit agents and brokers.
  • The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and be able to build and leverage excellent customer relationships.
