Job Summary:
Raleigh General Hospital is seeking a skilled CT Technologist-PRN to join our Radiology/Imaging Services team. As a CT Technologist-PRN, you will be responsible for providing high-quality computed tomography studies to include abdominal, pelvic, brain, thorax, skeletal, and vascular anatomy for use by the Radiologist in the diagnosis of patient illness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer oral and IV contrast media appropriately.
- Perform CT examinations and procedures as requested by the referring physician and Radiologist.
- Review patient history and physician's orders.
- Educate patients regarding procedures, equipment, and exam to ensure patient understanding and cooperation.
- Prepare and administer contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice.
- Monitor patient condition continually and report/respond to changes in status as appropriate.
- Implement safety standards and perform appropriate quality control procedures on equipment.
- Troubleshoot, resolve, and/or report equipment malfunctions as necessary.
- Position patients and perform imaging procedures.
- Analyze results and identify issues with the quality of imaging results.
- Take appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patients and repeating procedures.
- Enter, transmit, and report scan results.
Requirements:
- Graduate of a school of Radiologic Technology required.
- Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) - to be obtained within the first 30 days after hire.
- Licenses: ARRT registered in Radiography and WV licensure (CT registered preferred). CPR Certification.
- Minimum of one year RT experience. Minimum of six months of current CT experience.
