Computed Tomography Technologist

Job Summary:

Raleigh General Hospital is seeking a skilled CT Technologist-PRN to join our Radiology/Imaging Services team. As a CT Technologist-PRN, you will be responsible for providing high-quality computed tomography studies to include abdominal, pelvic, brain, thorax, skeletal, and vascular anatomy for use by the Radiologist in the diagnosis of patient illness.

Key Responsibilities:

• Administer oral and IV contrast media appropriately.
• Perform CT examinations and procedures as requested by the referring physician and Radiologist.
• Review patient history and physician's orders.
• Educate patients regarding procedures, equipment, and exam to ensure patient understanding and cooperation.
• Prepare and administer contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice.
• Monitor patient condition continually and report/respond to changes in status as appropriate.
• Implement safety standards and perform appropriate quality control procedures on equipment.
• Troubleshoot, resolve, and/or report equipment malfunctions as necessary.
• Position patients and perform imaging procedures.
• Analyze results and identify issues with the quality of imaging results.
• Take appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patients and repeating procedures.
• Enter, transmit, and report scan results.

Requirements:

• Graduate of a school of Radiologic Technology required.
• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
• Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) - to be obtained within the first 30 days after hire.
• Licenses: ARRT registered in Radiography and WV licensure (CT registered preferred). CPR Certification.
• Minimum of one year RT experience. Minimum of six months of current CT experience.
