Job Description

The Respiratory Therapist coordinates and delivers high-quality respiratory care in accordance with departmental requirements and state standards. Key responsibilities include:


  • Performing patient assessment, including breath sounds, airway patency, and cuff pressure.
  • Conducting diagnostic procedures to evaluate the need for respiratory therapy.
  • Administering respiratory care therapies and assisting with artificial airway placement.
  • Initiating, monitoring, and maintaining mechanical ventilation.
  • Monitoring patient response to therapy.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:


  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification within one year of employment.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification within 30 days of employment.
  • Neonate Resuscitate certification within one year of employment.
  • PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification within one year of employment.
  • RRT/Respiratory Care Practitioner (RRT/RCP) or equivalent certification.
