Elementary School Counselor Position

The Juneau School District is seeking a qualified School Counselor to join our team at Auke Bay Elementary School. As a School Counselor, you will play a vital role in supporting the academic, career, and personal/social development of our students.
Responsibilities- Develop and implement a comprehensive school counseling program that aligns with the Juneau School District's mission and goals.
- Provide individual and group counseling services to students, focusing on academic, career, and personal/social development.
- Collaborate with teachers and specialists to support student learning and achievement.
- Develop and maintain relationships with parents and community members to promote student success.
- Stay current with best practices in school counseling and make recommendations for program improvement.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in education or a related field.
- Valid Alaska Type C certificate with a counseling endorsement or ability to secure certificate upon hire.
- Experience working in an elementary school setting is preferred.
- Experience or background in counseling is highly desirable.
