Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Medical Screener to join our team at our plasma center in Maryville, TN. As a Medical Screener, you will be responsible for confirming donor identification, teaching donors to use the self-administered questionnaire, and performing donor arm checks. You will also determine donor suitability by reviewing donor responses to the questionnaire and confirming the donor has provided the correct answers to donor suitability questions. Additionally, you will defer donors based on knowledge of donor acceptance and deferral criteria.

Responsibilities:
  • Confirm donor identification and verify donor suitability
  • Teach donors to use the self-administered questionnaire and assist as needed
  • Perform donor arm checks and determine donor vital signs and weight
  • Review donor responses to the questionnaire and confirm correct answers
  • Defer donors based on knowledge of donor acceptance and deferral criteria

Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum of 12 months in the health field preferred or a combination of experience and education equivalent to this requirement
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to lift, pull, or tug up to 40lbs
  • Work requires extended periods of standing and bending
