We are seeking a highly skilled Autonomous Vehicle Safety Lead to play a pivotal role in our autonomous vehicle testing operations.

About the Role

This position involves ensuring the highest standards of safety during vehicle testing and supporting the team with data collection and technical feedback.

Responsibilities include:

  • Operating autonomous vehicles during testing, ensuring timely interventions when necessary to maintain safety.
  • Monitoring the technical condition of the vehicle and performing daily inspections and equipment checks.
  • Collecting and reporting data related to the autonomous driving system's performance.
Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Safety Monitoring and Data Collection: Operate autonomous vehicles during testing, ensuring timely interventions when necessary to maintain safety. Monitor the technical condition of the vehicle and perform daily inspections and equipment checks. Collect and report data related to the autonomous driving system's performance.
  • Training and Knowledge Sharing: Assist with on-boarding and training of new drivers. Provide feedback to engineers and developers to improve vehicle safety and performance. Participate in regular training and performance evaluations to maintain high safety standards.
  • Incident Response and Quality Control: Support the analysis of any incidents or accidents during testing. Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and procedures. Participate in discussions to review interventions and improve operational processes.
  • Operational Planning: Assist in daily task planning and scheduling for testing operations. Help manage shifts and ensure the availability of vehicles and drivers for each session.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A valid driver's license with at least 3 years of experience and a clean driving record.
  • Excellent knowledge of traffic regulations and road safety.
  • Experience driving various types of vehicles and the ability to navigate confidently in different conditions.
  • Strong communication skills for interacting with engineers and team members.
  • A high level of responsibility, attention to detail, and commitment to safety standards.
  • The ability to work in various weather conditions and on different types of roads.
Salary Information

The estimated salary for this role is $80,000 - $110,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
