Construction Services Expertise

At Michael Baker International, we're seeking a skilled Civil Associate to join our Construction Services team. As a trusted on-site agent, you'll support clients throughout the construction process, from pre-design to close-out. Your expertise will be invaluable in ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review plans and specifications to identify potential constructability issues or errors
  • Oversee daily operations of contractor or subcontractor personnel to ensure compliance with plans and specifications
  • Provide detailed guidance to contractors on plan and specification requirements
  • Identify and discuss necessary changes with contractors and clients
  • Prepare detailed field drawings and electronic templates to support calculations
  • Monitor material testing needs and take necessary tests
  • Document pay quantities, material requirements, and contractor staff in daily work reports

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
  • EIT license in Wisconsin or ability to obtain within 6 months
  • 0-2 years of related experience
  • Software proficiency in roadway design software, CAD, and Microsoft Office
  • Familiarity with construction materials, methods, and processes
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • Effective communication skills
  • Working experience with WisDOT is preferred
  • Highway Technician Certification Program (HTCP) certifications are preferred

Compensation

The approximate compensation range for this position is $60,675 to $85,825. This range is a good faith estimate and may vary based on factors such as education, qualifications, experience, skillset, and physical work location.
