Fenway Health Clinical Intern

Fenway Health is a renowned healthcare organization dedicated to providing high-quality, patient-centered care to the LGBTQIA+ community and beyond. We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Clinical Intern to join our team in the Violence Recovery Program (VRP).
Job SummaryThe Clinical Intern will work under the supervision of experienced professionals to provide counseling, support groups, advocacy, and referrals services to individuals served by the VRP. This role requires a strong understanding of clinical practices, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
ResponsibilitiesThe Clinical Intern will be responsible for:
- Providing direct clinical services to clients, including short-term therapy, group therapy/support groups, and case management
- Assisting clients in accessing the criminal justice system and/or securing counseling and social services
- Developing and maintaining contacts in other assistance agencies; maintaining updated referral lists
- Maintaining a caseload of 10 clients by the end of the first month
The Clinical Intern will also participate in Intern Programming, which includes:
- Regularly scheduled supervision with an Intern Primary Supervisor
- Attending Intern Group Meetings
- Cross-training and job shadowing activities outside of VRP
- Attending VRP team meetings
To be considered for this role, applicants must:
- Be actively enrolled in a graduate degree program in a related field (e.g. Social Work or Counseling)
- Have flexibility, adaptability, and the ability to multitask
- Have counseling and/or related experience
- Have completed college-level coursework focused on understanding human behavior, basic counseling theoretical frameworks, and basic diagnostic assessments
- Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
