Job Opportunity for a Class A CDL Truck Driver

Ryder is seeking a skilled Class A CDL Truck Driver to join our team in Smyrna, TN. As a solo driver, you will be responsible for delivering freight to regional locations, covering surrounding states, and working with a variety of equipment, including dry van 53' trailers and day cab tractors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensuring compliance with federal and state laws, regulations, and agency rules
  • Detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards
  • Loading and unloading freight or assisting in the loading/unloading of freight if required by the customer
  • Maintaining accurate records and logs
Benefits:
  • Competitive hourly pay: $29.00 per hour
  • Weekly pay: $1377 or more per week
  • Per diem pay: $50.00 per night with 4 nights per week
  • Sign-on bonus: $1500 at 30 days and $1500 at 90 days
  • Paid training
  • Uniforms and boot allowance provided
  • Paid personal time off starts at day hours accrued in the first year
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance start at 30 days
  • 12 weeks of paid maternity leave

Requirements:
  • Minimum 21 years of age
  • Pass a Ryder drug test
  • Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
  • Pass a DOT physical
  • Pass a Ryder road test
  • Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position
  • Must have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle
