Behavioral Therapist

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Behavioral Therapist to join our team in providing exceptional services to individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD). As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will work closely with consumers, families, and staff to develop and implement behavior plans that promote independence, community integration, and overall well-being.
Responsibilities- Develop and implement individualized behavior plans based on thorough assessments and collaboration with the clinical team.
- Conduct Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs) to identify root causes of challenging behaviors and provide recommendations for interventions.
- Monitor and train direct care staff on behavior plan implementation, ensuring consistency and quality programming.
- Utilize data analysis tools, such as Therap, to track progress and inform decision-making.
- Collaborate with psychologists to communicate psychiatric needs and develop comprehensive treatment plans.
- Design and deliver training sessions for staff on behavior planning, goal setting, and crisis intervention techniques.
- Participate in Interdisciplinary Treatment Team (IDTT) meetings to share updates, address concerns, and facilitate communication among team members.
- Maintain accurate records and reports, adhering to agency policies and procedures.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience working with individuals with IDD.
- At least one year of experience in behavioral therapy, preferably with individuals with challenging behaviors.
- Strong knowledge of cognitive and behavioral programming techniques, including Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
- Ability to analyze data, develop insightful recommendations, and prioritize tasks efficiently.
- Familiarity with electronic medical record systems, such as Therap, is preferred.
