Job Summary

UCLA Health is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Patient Service Representative to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide exceptional support to our physicians and patients, ensuring seamless communication and coordination of care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Communication and Coordination: Serve as a liaison between patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to facilitate effective communication and coordination of care.
  • Patient Support: Provide direct support to patients, including assistance with accessing services, facilitating communication with referring physicians, and referring patients to appropriate resources.
  • Problem-Solving and Critical Thinking: Utilize strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills to creatively integrate competing demands and priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
  • Verbal and Written Communication: Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills to clearly convey complex information to patients, physicians, and other stakeholders.
  • Cultural Competence: Demonstrate the ability to interact diplomatically and sympathetically with patients from diverse backgrounds and with varying degrees of health.

Requirements

  • Education and Experience: Possess a high school diploma or equivalent and relevant experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Skills and Abilities: Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Knowledge and Competencies: Possess knowledge of healthcare policies and procedures, as well as a working knowledge of electronic health records and other healthcare software systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Specialty Practice: Possess knowledge of specific specialty practices and workflows.
  • Working Knowledge of Policies and Procedures: Demonstrate a thorough understanding of patient-related policies and procedures, as well as a working knowledge of the University system and its services and programs.
  • Technical Skills: Possess working knowledge of hospital computer systems, personal computer systems, and various software products used in administrative work.
