Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Technologist to join our team at Randstad. As a Medical Technologist, you will be responsible for performing routine and non-routine activities pertaining to laboratory testing and the reporting of results.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Performing analytical testing procedures in an accurate, precise, and timely manner
  • Following laboratory procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analyses, reporting, and maintaining records of patient test results
  • Maintaining records that demonstrate proficiency testing samples are tested in the same manner as patient specimens
  • Reviewing and releasing test results
  • Following CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, and safety guidelines
  • Documenting all quality control activities, instrument and procedural calibrations, and maintenance performed
  • Identifying problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results and correcting them or notifying the senior technologist or supervisor
  • Documenting all corrective actions taken when test systems deviate from the laboratory's established performance specifications
  • Reporting STATS or Critical results to clients
  • Answering questions from customers or other lab personnel
  • Maintaining complete records of all testing performed on-site
  • Maintaining the general appearance of the department
  • Ensuring reagents/test kits have received dates, expiration dates, and if applicable, opened dates
  • Reviewing and training on new procedures
  • Attending monthly department and any additional training/educational meetings
  • Participating in all applicable safety training sessions
  • Participating in government or regulatory agency inspections
Requirements:
  • BS in Medical Technology or BS/BA in Chemistry or Biology
  • Previously qualified as a Technologist under 42 CFR published in March 14, 1990
  • 1 year Clinical experience (high complexity testing) preferred
  • Minimum of one year of clinical laboratory experience in highly complex testing for those with BS/BA in Chemistry or Biology
  • Ability to establish work priorities and handle several procedures simultaneously
  • Ability to interact with other departments
  • Good customer service skills
  • Ability to protect patient confidentiality at all times
