Medical Laboratory Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Technologist to join our team at Randstad. As a Medical Technologist, you will be responsible for performing routine and non-routine activities pertaining to laboratory testing and the reporting of results.
Key Responsibilities:- Performing analytical testing procedures in an accurate, precise, and timely manner
- Following laboratory procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analyses, reporting, and maintaining records of patient test results
- Maintaining records that demonstrate proficiency testing samples are tested in the same manner as patient specimens
- Reviewing and releasing test results
- Following CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, and safety guidelines
- Documenting all quality control activities, instrument and procedural calibrations, and maintenance performed
- Identifying problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results and correcting them or notifying the senior technologist or supervisor
- Documenting all corrective actions taken when test systems deviate from the laboratory's established performance specifications
- Reporting STATS or Critical results to clients
- Answering questions from customers or other lab personnel
- Maintaining complete records of all testing performed on-site
- Maintaining the general appearance of the department
- Ensuring reagents/test kits have received dates, expiration dates, and if applicable, opened dates
- Reviewing and training on new procedures
- Attending monthly department and any additional training/educational meetings
- Participating in all applicable safety training sessions
- Participating in government or regulatory agency inspections
- BS in Medical Technology or BS/BA in Chemistry or Biology
- Previously qualified as a Technologist under 42 CFR published in March 14, 1990
- 1 year Clinical experience (high complexity testing) preferred
- Minimum of one year of clinical laboratory experience in highly complex testing for those with BS/BA in Chemistry or Biology
- Ability to establish work priorities and handle several procedures simultaneously
- Ability to interact with other departments
- Good customer service skills
- Ability to protect patient confidentiality at all times
