The Role

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven individual to lead stakeholder engagement programs and develop state-based public policy campaigns. The successful candidate will manage lobbyists, build relationships with elected officials, key stakeholders, and partners, and establish coalitions to drive the adoption of high-tech fire detection tools.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement state-based public policy campaigns to secure government funding and enact supportive legislation for advanced fire detection technologies.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with elected officials, government staff, and the firefighting community to build support for wildfire technology initiatives.
  • Establish and manage coalitions with firefighting partners, industry partners, nonprofit organizations, and government agencies to advance wildfire technology initiatives.
  • Oversee a team of lobbyists and external partners to ensure strategic alignment and impact.
  • Advocate for policies that facilitate the adoption of high-tech fire detection tools, pursuing funding opportunities at the state and federal levels.
  • Analyze wildfire policy trends and generate reports, white papers, and public testimony to influence key decision-makers.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  • 5-10 years of experience in public policy, campaigns, or government relations, preferably in public safety, wildfire, lands, and conservation, and technology.
  • Significant experience in designing and implementing advocacy stakeholder management systems, building, managing, and mobilizing coalitions, and engaging with diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Strong project management skills, capable of juggling multiple state campaigns, teams, and priorities.
  • Deep commitment to leveraging advanced technologies for public good, particularly in addressing environmental challenges such as wildfires.

Compensation and Benefits:

This position comes with a competitive salary of $92,000-$128,000 per year, based on qualifications, experience, and location. Additionally, this role is eligible for stock options and comprehensive benefits, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, unlimited paid time off, and matching 401k.
