We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Retail Sales Associate to join our team at Goodwill Industries of Southeastern Michigan.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, operating Point of Sale (POS) systems, maintaining store cleanliness, and participating in training programs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Greet and welcome customers, ensuring a positive shopping experience
• Operate POS systems efficiently, handling cash, credit card transactions, and returns
• Welcome customers to participate in Change Round Up campaigns, promoting community involvement
• Respond to phone calls, answering queries and resolving issues promptly
• Assist in training new employees, sharing knowledge and best practices
• Maintain a clean and organized sales floor, adhering to health and safety standards

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• Excellent customer service skills, with a focus on empathy and patience
• Attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in transactions and store maintenance
• A high school diploma or equivalent, with prior retail experience preferred
• Six months of cash handling experience, with the ability to work independently
• Availability to work days, evenings, and weekends, as scheduled
• Ability to perform essential job functions, including standing, bending, and lifting up to 25 pounds
