The Senior Ebilling & Rates Specialist will be primarily responsible for overseeing and implementing best practices in relation to ebill submission and rate setup and maintenance across all business areas. The person will require robust analytical skills, knowledge of multiple ebilling platforms, and billing formats. In addition, the Senior Ebilling & Rates Specialist will support the rate review and annual rate update process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage submission of ebills for designated business units, locations, and platforms
- Review, implement, and communicate outside counsel guidelines, including setup rate structures, task & activity codes, and add to matter plans
- Review disbursement constraints and implement controls to avoid unrecoverable costs
- Onboard vendors for all ebill setup, along with ebill configuration
- Work directly with the Pricing Team to determine new timekeeper rates are accurate based on provided proposals
- Lead the development of Business Intelligence (BI) dashboards and reporting to ensure data governance and integrity
- Submit, review, and maintain rate submissions to ebilling vendors
- Oversee short payment process and coordinate appeal audits & transactions
- Participate in technology reviews and undertake extensive user acceptance testing (UAT) pertaining to BI reporting tools and systems
- Contribute to, help manage, and enhance resources and content on the intranet, collaboration website, and document management system
- Collaborate with billing and finance teams on overall rate-related inquiries
- 5+ years of experience in a similar or relatable position
- Professional services or law firm experience essential
- Superior analytical and organizational skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to work independently
- Advanced MS Excel and Access skills
- Intermediate with MS Word, PowerPoint, Project, and Visio
- Experienced in Business Intelligence (and Business Applications) development
