This is a Part-Time Instructor Pool in our Continuing Education Workforce Development (CEWD) department for available assignments during the academic year. Applications are considered throughout the academic year and reviewed based on departmental needs.

About the Role:

We seek an experienced Medical Instructor to teach a variety of courses within the Clinical Medical Assisting Program. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and delivering lecture, laboratory, and clinical instruction according to the required curriculum established by Alvin Community College.

Responsibilities:

  • ">
  • Teach medical assisting courses which may be scheduled days, nights, weekends, and/or online.">
  • Provide educational assistance to students during regularly scheduled class times.">
  • Maintain relationships with clinical affiliates to ensure excellent learning opportunities for students.">
  • Participate in program meetings and contribute to curriculum development and revisions as needed.">
  • Grade assignments, return graded assignments, and assign final grades for all students in a timely manner.">
  • Monitor student attendance and retention, and comply with CEWD department and ACC policies and procedures.">

Requirements:

  • ">
  • High school diploma or GED">
  • Current medical assistant certification or State of Texas nursing license">
  • Minimum of one year experience as a Medical Assistant or as a Licensed or Registered Nurse">
  • Experience in phlebotomy, immunizations, venipuncture injections, wound care, GYN procedures, direct patient care procedures, and vital signs">
  • Current, valid Driver's License">
  • Clean driving record and ability to travel to work-related locations using personal vehicle">
  • Bachelor's degree in Health Sciences or related field from an accredited institution (Preferred)">

Salary and Benefits:

">

The estimated salary range for this position is $$42,000 - $55,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. Alvin Community College offers comprehensive benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, paid leave, and wellness programs.
