Job Summary

UCHealth is seeking a skilled Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to join our team. As a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, you will be responsible for performing sonography in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and with the policies, values, and mission of the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Reviews patient history, physician's orders, and schedules procedures.
  • Educates patients regarding procedures, equipment, and exams to ensure patient understanding and cooperation.
  • Prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice.
  • Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate.
  • Prepares equipment and supplies, selects appropriate exposure factors, and performs imaging procedures.
  • Implements safety standards and performs quality control procedures on equipment.
  • Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary.
  • Positions patients and performs imaging procedures, analyzes results, and identifies issues with imaging quality.
  • Takes action to resolve image quality issues, including re-positioning patients and repeating procedures.
  • Enters, transmits, and reports scan results.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound Technologist program or Diagnostic Medical Sonographer program.
  • Registered as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS), Vascular Technologist (RVT), or Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or certified in Sonography (S) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider certification.
