We are seeking a skilled Staff Nurse to join our team at NYC Health + Hospitals/CORRECTIONAL HEALTH SERVICES. As a Staff Nurse, you will provide high-quality patient care and work collaboratively with healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.
About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, providing medical care to patients in a correctional setting. As a Staff Nurse, you will be responsible for assessing patient health problems and needs, developing and implementing nursing care plans, and maintaining accurate medical records. You will also have the opportunity to work closely with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and ensure seamless transitions between hospital settings.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will have a strong background in nursing and excellent communication skills. Key responsibilities will include:
- Assessing patient health problems and needs, developing and implementing nursing care plans
- Maintaining accurate medical records and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements
- Providing direct patient care and education, including administering medications and treatments
- Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and ensure seamless transitions between hospital settings
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must have a valid New York State license and current registration to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State. Additionally, you must hold or obtain through facility orientation, a valid and current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA).
