Job Summary

The Registered Nursing (RN) position at Sentara Healthcare is responsible for providing high-quality patient care in the Medicine Oncology department. The successful candidate will possess clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct patient care to patients with various medical conditions, including oncological patients, CHF, COPD, Sepsis, Pneumonia, Diabetes, Sickle Cell, and end of life.
  • Administer medications, perform procedures such as wound vacs, high-risk medication infusions, telemetry, trach care, chest tubes, and peritoneal dialysis.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
  • Participate in hospital committees to share ideas and improve patient care.

Requirements:
  • Virginia or Compact Multi-State License in good standing.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • RN-Associate's Degree, or RN-Bachelor's Degree, or RN-Diploma, or RN-Master's Degree.
