About the Position:

The Executive Child Welfare Advocate is a key member of our Housing and Economic Mobility Team, reporting directly to the Director of Housing and Economic Mobility.

This position is responsible for providing technical assistance to partnering organizations, delivering training sessions, creating written materials, convening workgroups, implementing strategies, legislative advocacy, data analysis, and research related to foster and homeless youths in California.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing direct technical assistance to partnering organizations or public agencies
  • Organizing and delivering training sessions relevant to program goals
  • Creating written products including outreach materials, technical assistance publications, policy bills, and newsletter articles
  • Convening workgroups with stakeholders including public agencies, school districts, post-secondary institutions, community-based organizations, advocates for youth, and elected officials
  • Developing and delivering presentations regarding initiative goals at conferences and events

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5+ years of experience in technical assistance, training, and/or advocacy
  • Excellent written, interpersonal, and verbal communication skills
  • Master in Critical Thinking skills
  • Knowledge or experience in child welfare/foster care or other related social service fields (preferred)

What We Offer:

  • $90,000 - $105,000 per year
  • Full-time exempt position
  • Hybrid schedule with Tuesdays and Thursdays in-office and other days remote
