Description

The Family Preservation Specialist will work as part of the Family Preservation team to provide support services to families who are working with Family Preservation services as well as respite (temporary) caregivers. The Specialist will work with families who have children ranging from age 11-18 and are at risk of entering foster care due to their behaviors. The goal is to keep the family together, safely.

The Specialist will provide household support, babysitting/supervision, acting as another safe adult in the home, providing homework assistance, and support in the community in the form of daily routine assistance such as helping with transportation, helping with shopping, or running errands. Each family's needs will be uniquely assessed and supported.

The Family Preservation Specialist is trained in Solution-Based Casework, Behavioral Intervention Support (BIST), and Sanctuary Model of trauma-informed care to better partner with the families they work with and to move them toward positive change. The schedule is flexible but could include some evening and weekend hours.

Qualifications

This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent and 2 years' experience in the children and family services field working with children and families. Must be at least 21 years of age and pass background check, physical and drug screening. This position also requires a valid driver's license, proof of current vehicle insurance, and reliable transportation.
