Education Administrator Advanced-Program Specialist

Job Summary:

This position exists to support monitoring, accountability, and compliance requirements associated with the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act Part B, SPP-APR Indicator 1-14.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor complaint settlement CAPs to include desktop monitoring, self-monitoring, and on-site monitoring.
  • Maintain the complaint and CAP database for purposes of IDEA Section 618 compliance and reporting.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure that CAPs are completed and closed and reported in SPP/APR.
  • Review documentation to determine compliance with IDEA-B regulations and state rules determining whether local education agencies meet federal compliance requirements as part of the corrective action process.
  • Collaborate with peers and attorneys to determine actions and remedies associated with compliant settlement corrective action.
  • Determine and provide necessary technical assistance in conjunction with department teams in order to achieve and maintain IDEA-B compliance.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Public Administration, or Business Administration.
  • Five years of experience as a teacher and/or program administrator.

Working Conditions:

Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage. Some sitting, standing, bending, and reaching may be required. Some occasional travel is required for meetings and conferences.
