Staff Accountant II

Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Staff Accountant II to join our finance team, handling the preparation of financial reports in line with GAAP principles. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for various aspects of general ledger accounting, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities- Generate customer invoices and monitor accounts receivable for accuracy and payment
- Gather financial information on customers and prospects for credit checks; maintain credit files
- Record vendor invoices and monitor accounts payable for accuracy and payment
- Compile and analyze financial information to prepare and post journal entries accurately and timely
- Assist in the monthly close of the company's financial statements, including preparation of schedules to support balance sheet and income statement accounts
- Document and develop accounting and control procedures for complex accounts
- Prepare tax filings and assist in financial analysis and reporting
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts, including bank accounts, prepaid expenses, accruals, and fixed assets
- Assist in the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring all deadlines are met
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to investigate and resolve discrepancies or variances in financial data
- Work with other departments to ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures
- Provide supporting documentation and analytical information for internal and external audits
- Take full responsibility for ensuring internal and external customer satisfaction
- Demonstrate initiative, drive, and determination to achieve results, success, and growth
- Stay updated on changes in accounting standards and regulations, and ensure compliance with GAAP principles
- Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and effectiveness within the finance department
- At least 2 years of overall accounting experience; knowledge of accounting processes and procedures
- CPA is a nice to have
- Strong Excel skills
- Excellent communication and customer service skills in dealing with internal and external customers
- Attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and work in a structured environment
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information and records with a high degree of discretion, diligence, and good judgment
- Maintains a high level of energy, enthusiasm, engagement, and commitment to action
