Database Administrator Role at Candescent

Candescent is a leading non-core digital banking provider, offering a comprehensive portfolio of industry-leading products and services. As a Database Administrator, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and developing our database systems, ensuring seamless performance and optimal resource utilization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain Oracle, SQL Server, and Postgres databases, performing daily maintenance activities, data reorganizations, backup and recovery, space management, performance tuning, and change management.
  • Assist application developers and clients with database usage and software development activities.
  • Monitor and tune software systems to ensure acceptable levels of performance and resource utilization.
  • Stay current with new IT technologies to maintain high-level subject matter expertise.
  • Perform installations of complex, clustered, and high-availability software and hardware environments.
  • Follow and maintain all Corporate Change Control and Audit requirements.
  • Research and provide requirements for software compatibility within the Enterprise Architecture.
  • Provide technical assistance to Operations, Applications, Business Clients, and the Help Desk.
  • Participate in technical discussions and share technical expertise with the team.
  • Communicate between key IT groups and the customer community.

Requirements:
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in Oracle, SQL Server Database Administration.
  • Postgres experience required.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive materials.
  • Comfort with working in groups and individually on projects.
  • Ability to document, explain, and present tasks related to decisions and processes.
