Job Overview

Mac Machine, a leading CNC machine shop in Baltimore, Maryland, is seeking a highly motivated individual to fill the position of CMM Programmer and Quality Inspector. This role involves operating and maintaining CMM machines, programming and inspecting parts, and analyzing blueprints and specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate CMM machines and maintain work instructions for setup and inspection of parts.
  • Perform programming of CMM machines using ZEISS software from Model Based Definition and 2D drawing.
  • Analyze and interpret blueprints, models, evaluation sheets, manuals, and other materials to determine specifications, inspection, and testing procedures.
  • Collect and analyze inspection data, making computations as necessary to determine inspection results and perform first article inspections.
  • Communicate information to others about inspection results, part status, updates, specific instructions, and participate in PFMEA activities.
  • Determine product suitability for shipment for company and customer.
  • Work closely with Engineering on related issues, including MSA, Gage R-N-R, and statistical studies.
  • Plan and work as a key member of the production team to ensure high-quality product and on-time delivery.
  • Provide support for Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives, companywide.

Requirements:

  • 3 years of experience with Zeiss Calypso software required.
  • Ability to read and understand complex mechanical drawings and 3D Models.
  • Functional understanding of GD&T, and Math (including Algebra, Geometry, and Trigonometry).
  • Skilled in use of inspection tools, including calipers, micrometers, surface gauges, height gages.
  • Computer Literate: Windows, Excel, Word, and familiar with an ERP software.
  • Strong communication skills, written and verbal.
  • 2 years manufacturing inspection experience.
  • Must be able to work with minimum supervision.
