About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled PhD researcher to join our team at the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory. As a Quantum Information Science Theorist, you will be responsible for proposing and leading independent research projects in quantum algorithm development, quantum error correction, and scalable characterization techniques.
Key Responsibilities:
- Propose and lead independent research projects in quantum algorithm development, quantum error correction, and scalable characterization techniques.
- Work collaboratively with other APL staff to identify emerging challenges with quantum solutions.
- Support ongoing programs in QIS by making immediate contributions to efforts modeling physically motivated quantum systems, and developing relevant characterization, control, and error correction strategies.
Qualifications:
- PhD in Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a closely related field.
- Experience with programming and software development.
- Research, accomplishments, and publications in the field of quantum information science.
- Ability to obtain an Interim Secret level security clearance by your start date and can ultimately obtain a TS/SCI w/ Polygraph security clearance.
