Boulder Centre for Orthopedics seeks an experienced Registered Nurse to join our team as a PACU & Pre-Operative RN in an Orthopedic setting. Job Overview

This role plays a vital part in ensuring the smooth execution of surgical procedures by assessing, preparing, and instructing patients prior to surgery. You will also take and record vital statistics, initiate IVs, and monitor post-operative conditions, among other responsibilities.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Essential Duties:
    • Able to assess, instruct, and prepare patients for surgery
    • Ensure operative and informed consents are signed correctly
    • Take and record patient vital statistics for readiness
    • Initiate IVs and inform patients about procedure details
    • Monitor post-operative condition and report changes to physician
    • Log findings in patient files and answer questions
    • Maintain patient comfort and respond to emergencies
  • Skills and Requirements:
    • Continuous learning and maintenance of expertise in healthcare
    • Analytical skills to gather information and devise action plans
    • Utilization of intelligence and critical thinking in decision-making
    • Advanced understanding of human anatomy and physiology
    • Proficiency in using specialized medical equipment
    • Adherence to evidence-based practice and regulatory standards
    • Quick response to changing work conditions
    • Accurate communication of patient care details
    • Ability to conduct diagnostic tests and interpret results
    • Knowledge of community resources for patient care continuity
  • Education and Experience:
    • Degree in Nursing: Bachelor's Preferred
    • Current Colorado Registered Nurse license
    • BCLS & ACLS certification required
    • 2 years of experience in Pre-Op/PACU (RN) in an Orthopedic setting preferred
