About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Nurse Specialist- Cancer Center.

Responsibilities:
  • Supports the organization's Quality Safety and Performance Improvement Plan by utilizing evidence-based practice to develop quality and performance programs.
  • Facilitates the development and dissemination of nursing knowledge and research that supports coordinated, resource-efficient quality outcomes.
  • Demonstrates understanding of nursing process, interdisciplinary collaboration, quality and performance management, patient safety, continuum of care concepts, customer service, and healthy work environments.
  • Demonstrates understanding of nursing and patient care standards as integral to professional practice.
  • Assists with review and development of interdisciplinary and interdepartmental structure standards, process, and outcome standards in conjunction with other nursing leadership.
  • Participates in occurrence reviews, complaint investigation, RCAs, and FMEAs, and assists in facilitation of corrective action plans with nursing leadership and staff.
  • Supports unit-based leadership and partnering for quality teams in developing performance improvement initiatives that reflect their specialty and achieve improved patient outcomes.

To qualify, you must have a Registered Professional Nurse in the State of New York. A Bachelor's Degree in Nursing; Master's Degree in Nursing or related field required or in progress. Minimum of 5 years of recent clinical experience in acute care nursing with demonstrated leadership skills.
