Welder - Ewing

We are seeking a skilled Welder to join our team at Action Carting Environmental Services/ Interstate Waste Services in Ewing, NJ. As a Welder, you will be responsible for performing minor repairs and applying basic welding processes to compactors, containers, and other equipment.

Responsibilities:

• Perform minor repairs and apply basic welding processes to compactors, containers, and other equipment.
• Repair compactors, containers, and other equipment as needed.
• Conduct safety checks on compactors and containers.
• Complete required paperwork utilizing fleet maintenance software program associated with repairing compactors and containers, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times.
• Perform service calls for compactor repair.
• Perform related work such as flame cutting, bending, forming, beveling, notching of metal and plastic parts.
• Perform all work within Standard Repair Times (SRTs).
• Work from prints, drawings, and verbal instructions.
• Perform standard layouts and set-ups of dimensions and tolerances.
• Utilize standard shop hand tools, measuring devices, and equipment.
• Perform other maintenance related work as required.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate / OSHA Standards.

Qualifications:

• Experience in welding processes such as MIG, stick, and torch welding on a variety of materials.
• Knowledge of safety procedures and practices necessary while operating or repairing compactors, containers, and carts.
• Skill in operating tools, equipment, parts, and procedures utilized during the repair and servicing of compactors, containers, and carts.
• Basic understanding of design techniques, principles, and tools necessary for the precise production of technical plans, drawings, models, and blueprints.
• Excellent ability to read and listen to assignments given in a variety of forms.
• Basic understanding of mathematics as related to welding assignments.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to weld components that are vertical, flat, or overhead.
• Must have enough manual dexterity and stability as required for precision work.
• Must be able to see details at close range.
• Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at times.
• Must be able to traverse facilities and machinery by climbing, balancing, lifting, walking, stooping, and carrying materials.
