Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Oncology Registered Nurse to join our team at Medical City Plano, a 600+ bed acute care hospital in Plano, Texas.
About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and compassionate nurse to work with patients diagnosed with cancer. As a Registered Nurse on our medical oncology unit, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient-centered care, collaborating with medical providers and the care team to provide personalized care, and advocating for patients, families, and caregivers.
Responsibilities
- Asevaluate patients' conditions during admission and each scheduled shift, identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
- Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by medical providers, ensuring thorough documentation of care administration in patients' medical records.
- Administer prescribed medications, monitor patients for therapeutic responses, and take appropriate action in the event of unintended medication reactions.
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers about medical conditions, treatment plans, medications, possible side effects, and follow-up measures, ensuring complete understanding by translating complex medical terminology.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, BSN/MSN preferred.
- Texas State RN License or compact license required.
- American Heart Association or Red Cross BLS required.
- National Specialty Certification preferred.
What We Offer
We offer a competitive salary range of $110,000 - $140,000 per year, based on experience, plus comprehensive benefits, including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
