About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Technician to join our Maintenance team at IGO's Nova Nickel Operation.

As a Mechanical Technician, you will be responsible for the ongoing maintenance and breakdowns across all Nova fixed plant assets, including processing and paste plants, workshop, and other non-process infrastructure.

Key accountabilities will include:

  • Mechanical fitting, welding, and fabrication
  • Preventative maintenance of equipment
  • Assisting with major plant shutdowns
  • Performing other mechanical duties within your capabilities
  • Reporting faults and ensuring repairs are carried out
  • Supporting site safety requirements
  • Completing Job Safety Environment Analysis (JSEA) or SWP prior to performing work tasks
  • Supporting collaboration between maintenance and production teams
  • Identifying and reporting opportunities for improving plant availability

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to workplace safety and relevant mechanical trade qualification with mine site fitting, welding, and fabrication experience.

Sound understanding of mineral process and crushing plants is desirable, as is operational experience with fixed plants.

Ability to analyze process data to determine ideal solutions and confined space and working at heights high-risk work license are highly regarded.

Valid C-class manual driver's license and national police clearance obtained within the last two months are also required.
