Aquatic Safety Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Aquatic Safety Specialist to join our team at the City of Dover. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safety of pool patrons, coordinating aquatics programs, and maintaining facility maintenance as needed.
This is a part-time position with varying hours, offering a competitive hourly rate of $15.33. The position is open until filled.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet pool patrons and provide assistance as needed.
- Participate in pool patrols to ensure safety and security.
- Collect user fees and handle cash transactions.
- Maintain and enforce safety rules and regulations.
- Distribute promotional materials and respond to public inquiries.
- Perform miscellaneous duties such as answering phones, typing correspondence, and running errands.
- Supervise classes and activities for aquatics programs.
- Assist with aquatics competitions and register participants.
- Maintain pool water chemistry and perform regular maintenance tasks.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, other departments, and the public.
Requirements
High school diploma and a minimum of two years of experience in aquatic programs. Certification as a Lifeguard Instructor with CPR and First Aid is required. Water Safety Instructor, pool operator, and Swimming Instructor/Trainer certifications are preferred. A valid motor vehicle operator license is also required.
